It is necessary to protect your digital video camera when you are filming out of a car window. Many people try to film from different places and you can also decide to film out of a car window. However, you need to learn some tips on how you can keep your camera from being harmed while filming out of a car window.

If you want to film out of the car window, the first thing is to choose between filming from the front and back of the car. Considering the fact that the front would normally present you with just one open available seat, you might want to settle for the back. Do not attempt to hold the camera as you drive; else, you would not get good footage and you would also be putting every other person in great risk.

You would also decide if you are going to film while the car window is closed or open. If the window is really transparent, no one might notice you filmed through a window; otherwise, it will be obvious regardless of how hard you try to clean the window. You would also ensure that you choose a fairly bright day to do your filming while trying also to keep off any object that reflects in the closed window. But you must know that this type of filming does not augur well at night.

Using your digital video camera to film through an open window offers the best image quality. However, this can cause damage on your camera as a result of unfriendly weather or other hazards. You can easily loose grip of your camera and find it rolling uncontrollably behind your car when you choose to film with an open car window. The best way to ensure that this does not happen is to firmly secure the digital camera to the videographer in such a way that it can not be dislodged by any force whatsoever.

When filming through an open window of a car, you should also try not to move the car too fast and avoid extending the camera out of the car if you notice a precipitation or complicated wind. Filming through the windshield is the easiest option at your disposal; all you need to do is to position the camera to point straight out while you secure it. Then you would also need someone seating by the passengers side to give it the necessary support in order to prevent it from falling.

Most times, people try to achieve a motion effect of the quick paced progression of a moving vehicle; the essence could be to track a moving action, to show the movement of a car in the story space and for some other reasons too. In this case, some people would have the digital video camera mounted on the external of the car while some people would prefer it held inside the car while they film through the window. The latter is a safer technique but rather poses some complex technological challenges.

It is important to protect your video camera while filming especially from the window of car. The few tips discussed above will certainly offer you some clues on how to protect your filming device.
